ScholarSide · Effective July 14, 2026
ScholarSide is designed to be private by default. It has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking, and the developer operates no servers that receive your data.
The papers, notes, highlights, projects, reading sessions, and PDFs you add are stored only on your device. If you have iCloud or device backup enabled in iOS, this data is included in that backup under Apple's control. The developer has no access to any of it.
ScholarSide only contacts the network in response to an action you take:
export.arxiv.org) and/or CrossRef
(api.crossref.org) to retrieve public bibliographic metadata
(title, authors, venue, abstract).arxiv.org).api.anthropic.com) to generate the requested draft. This
processing is governed by
Anthropic's Privacy Policy
and
Commercial Terms.
Your API key is stored in the device Keychain and is used only to authenticate
these requests; it is never sent anywhere else. These requests go directly from your device to those services. None of them are operated by the developer, and the developer receives no copy of the data.
ScholarSide is a productivity tool intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. It does not knowingly collect information from children.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new effective date.
